Postdoctoral scientist at FRM II, Garching

The position is funded for three years, starting from July 1, 2019. A later starting date can be negotiated. The successful applicant will be based at the FRM II neutron source in Garching and will participate in the final installment and commissioning of the SAPHiR instrument. SAPHiR is a unique multi anvil apparatus of new design that allows simultaneous neutron diffraction and radiography experiments up to 25 GPa and 2000 ˚C. The applicant will have the opportunity to carry out independent research with the instrument.
Formal requirement for applications is a Ph. D. in Earth sciences, physics, chemistry or a related field. Previous experience with neutron experiments is not required.
